Notes :
(1) Booked to be hauled by 2 class 14 locos (nickname “Moose”) but none were available. At one stage there were rumours that the train would be cancelled due to lack of power.
(2) Tour train was attached to the weekly Faro – Porto “Comboio Azul” (Blue train). The total consist was 1566 + 1 class 26 electric (2602) + 3 coaches off the rail tour + 5 “Comboio Azul” coaches + 2 (loaded) car carriers, equivalent to around 12 or 13 coaches (Janet Cottrell comments: this has to rank as one of my most memorable rail journeys).
