The tour was badly delayed at Carpenters Road North Junc. by the breakdown of a tamping machine at Dalston on the North London line. A further delay followed due to a points failure at Canonbury Junc. At one time the tour was running almost two hours late but, after reducing some of the scheduled stops, arrival back at Liverpool Street was about 30 minutes late.
