Notes :
(1) 46035 was "failed" at Bristol (faulty TPWS) and 47756 added on front, both locos powering to Penzance and back.
(2) 46035 developed a fuel leak and was removed at Bristol Temple Meads due to the fire risk.

Graham Hesp comments : The first problems were encountered before Kidderminster. The problem was with the TPWS equipment which has recently been fitted, but hasn't as yet been certified. Apparently it was registering a fault and Network Rail would only let the train proceed (even though the TPWS isn't officially working yet!!) with another driver that was current to BTM as second man. I was sitting a few feet away from the gentleman that offered his services. He of course thoroughly enjoyed his unexpected bonus and we are very grateful to him. I think his name was Dave and he was an EWS Driver.
