Notes :
(1) Train departed at midnight.
(2) Closed line.
(3) Visit to closed station whilst the unit transferred from line 8 to line 9.
The original 1930's plaster adverts still existed and were in excellent
condition.
(4) Closed station.
(5) Wrong route set, train had to reverse back to station.
(6) Train had now been through all platforms at La Motte Picquet station on
Lines 8 & 10.
(7) For champagne! Then made tunnel walk and visit to inspection pit under a
Metro train
(8) Could not go round turning circle as occupied by first train of the day.
(9) Breakfast of croissants and coffee was served!
Chris Totty comments;
(a) The bits round La Motte-Picquet on lines 8 and 10 are a bit confusing
especially as someone forgot to change the points so we ended up going back to
clear them and starting again! Eventually we managed to pass through the four
platforms of these two lines at this station.
(b) There is a training line which joins lines 5 and 2 from between Gare du Nord
and Gare de l'Est (line 5) and between Anvers and Pigalle (line 2). Off this
line is a track into a platform which is a dead end. Champagne was served here
around 3:00 a.m!
(c) When we got back to Porte des Lilas the first line 3b train of the day was in the
platform occupying the turning circle so we had to do a bit of shunting to get
back to the Haxo line junction and into the Cinema platform. Upon disembarking
there was the most wonderful smell of fresh coffee and croissants which was
served to all participants for breakfast.
(d) I don't know if ADEMAS are still doing these tours but they were about once
every three months in 2003/2004 and at Euro 32 they were outstanding value.
