This was the last of Steam Dreams' trips of the year. The outward journey ran well. At the Colchester water stop we should have been passed by a Liverpool St - Norwich train but this had been cancelled. Another one should have passed us at Ipswich but this was running late due to bridge hit so we went forward arriving at Norwich a quarter of an hour early.

On the return we were picking up time until we were stopped at Haughley Jn to let a train come off the Bury line. We stopped on the through line at Ipswich to let an up train pass & got to the Colchester water stop late but cut down on the time allowed so were only 6 late away. An observant member of staff at Colchester thought that a door was open on the train as we left so we were put into Marks Tey loop (19.26-40) for the train to examined. It transpired that the door handle has not returned to the horizontal position & that all was otherwise well. We were due to run on the slow line from Shenfield to Ilford but didn't so we got to Stratford almost on time. The only other point worth noting is that we ran on No. 1 line from Dalston to Camden Road, the first time I have done it with steam. Arrival at Victoria was on time.
