(1) Gordon Jakes comments: In truth, whilst this was an excellent tour with an interesting itinerary, there was very little opportunity for the two locos to get a bit of speed going. Clearly the power was there as demonstrated on the various steep gradients but much of the journey was covered under adverse signals and the constraints associated with traversing a large number of junctions. 45407 carried 'The Jacobite' headboard.
