(3) John Clifford comments: The train ran as expected on the outward journey but on the return we slightly delayed at Cromer awaiting a down train. Then there was a lengthy wait at Wroxham due to a signal failure in the Whitlingham Jn area. Because of this the train returned via the Wensum Curve instead of reversing in Norwich station. At Cambridge we covered the through line but were held on the down line at Royston to allow an up 'fast' to pass. Signals checks from Hadley Wood onwards saw us arrive at Finsbury Park 61 min late.
