Notes :
(1) 7827 banked the train from the top of Waterside bank to Churston. The weather was very wet and windy. Steve Marshall confirms and adds: 71000 failed to negotiate the right hand bend at the top of Waterside bank and after more than 10 minutes of trying in torrential rain. 7827 was running behind with the 12:15 Paignton-Kingswear and left it’s train at Goodrington station to run up (tender first) to the back of the Torbay Express. It banked it to Churston, then ran back to Goodrington light engine for it’s service train.
(2) 71000 failed and was rescued by 47815 from Tiverton Up Loop. Reports suggest the train was around 3hrs late departing Tiverton Up Loop.
