Notes :
(1) On the return led the train went via Shrewsbury Platform and not round the
curve; the train was retimed Shrewsbury to Birmingham International as a result
but these new times were not advised to the passengers.
(2) Chris Bracey comments: 37706 worked the ECS from Southall to Euston in the
morning, but did not work the train on Saturday. Time keeping was erratic with
the stock not being shunted into the platform at Aberystwyth until after the
departure time. There was also a big problem getting the train in the right
position in the platform at Shrewsbury on the return journey, with 2 locomotives
to come off and 2 to go on it was difficult getting all the train into the right
position, this resulted in having to keep pulling up, which in turn was making
the train later. However there was so much slack it arrived at Euston slightly
ahead of its arrival time.
