(1) 35465 only in the train consist when 70000 was hauling or on the rear of the train. 35518 only in the train consist when 34067 was hauling.
(2) Propelling move. 34067 had developed a problem with its middle cylinder so was removed in Fairwater Yard with 47500 taking its place. 34067 worked under its own power to Bishops Lydeard on the West Somerset Railway
(3) 47500 on rear.
(4) 70000 on rear.
(5) John Clifford comments; When this tour was first advertised the locos were to be:
30777: London Waterloo to Westbury
34046 + 34067: Westbury to Newquay via Castle Cary & Taunton
34046 + 34067: Newquay to Exeter St Davids
34046: Exeter St Davids to Okehampton
Diesel: Okehampton via Exeter St Davids to Yeovil Junction
34067: Yeovil Junction to London Waterloo
34046 was not ready for main line work so 70000 was substituted. When the times appeared the return train was shown as running to Victoria. On 2nd September 30777 was coming south but caused some fires on the East Coast main Line so that working was terminated at Newark Northgate. The outward tour train was revised to the route shown above with 34067 & 70000 booked to work throughout from Waterloo to Newquay. The return train was to be via the original route (except that it now terminated at Victoria).

The train terminated at Newark Northgate due to 30777 causing lineside fires. 70000 and both support coaches were diesel-hauled to Southall Depot on 3rd September, 30777 was eventually removed by road to the Great Central Railway
