(1) John Clifford comments; The outward leg was delayed at Paignton, so arrived at Kingswear late. I was hoping to do a return trip on the steam railway to Paignton and back. However as the tour was arriving at Kingswear, the Paignton train hauled by 7827 'Lydham Manor' was leaving. I therefore spent the afternoon in an increasingly wet Dartmouth. Laurence Hynes adds: The fare included the passenger ferry to and from Dartmouth 'station', which led to the ferry being completely full both ways, which was not much fun for those who had to travel outside in the heavy rain on the way back!
