(1) 66128 on rear.
(2) Doug Lindsay comments: The outward leg all went more or less to time
with arrival at Great Yarmouth a minute early. The full stock did not go to Crown
Point for turning as planned. 66128 released 60163 by shunting from platform 2
to platform 4 and then accompanied 'Tornado' and 21249 to Norwich for turning
and servicing. When returned 66128 first which was pushed down platform 2,
60163 & 21249 attached to stock in platform 4 and drew out to put onto 66128
at stops on platform 2. Departure on time, maybe 2 late, all ok until Wymondham
where a 1 minute crew stop was planned, this sadly became a 20 minute stop
due to control dispute (apparently), then on arrival outside Ely the home
signal was problematic and driver was talked past due to a track circuit
failure. Left there some 40 minutes down due to awaiting service trains, as we
were well out of path, passed Cambridge still 40 minutes down in spite of
spirited running and stopped for water as planned at Royston, but had to await
two service trains to pass wrong line before leaving, now 60 minutes late!!!
Good dash down to Hitchin and main line without hold ups down to Stevenage stop
where we left now 65 minutes late!! Dash to Potters Bar and left there 60
minutes late and finally arrived arrived Kings Cross approx 55 minutes late.
