(2) 99312 was only in the consist when 35018 was on the train. 99718 was only in the consist of 1Z25 from Carnforth to York Holgate Sidings.
(3) This tour was diesel assisted, due to the risk of lineside fires in hot weather.
(3) John Clifford's comments: This was one of a series of trips run on Thursdays in the summer from Carnforth to Scarborough and back. The routes were either via Preston and Wakefield Kirkgate (this one) or via Skipton. Steam was booked from York Holgate Sidings to Scarborough and back. On the day Manchester Victoria - Scarborough services were running late. This meant that the tour had to wait for 10.32 from Manchester to clear platform 5 at York. The 10.32 left York 18 minutes late. There was enough recovery time in the schedule for us to reach Scarborough on time. On the return we were checked outside York by the 16.32 Manchester Victoria - Scarborough which left York 23 minutes late.
