Notes :
(1) This was the last 'Fellsman' tour for the 2018 season.
(2) It is reported that the return leg was delayed near Ais Gill, due to problems with the injectors on 45699. David Moyle comments: The water injector issues came up just after Ais Gill Summit, one of them had packed up completely and the other was letting water in as a trickle, this very nearly resulted in them having to drop the fire as a result. Fortunately they managed to sort out the issue but the injector which had earlier on packed up still wasn't working properly, so it had been decided to arrange for a diesel to be sent from Carnforth to assist the train from Hellifield back to Preston. Despite this emergency stop we arrived in Hellifield only 7 minutes down at 17.59. In the end it was decided to try and limp back to Preston without diesel assistance as we would otherwise have lost our path, the diesel hadn't yet left Carnforth once we had arrived in Hellifield. The departure being 4 minutes down at 18.36. Prior to a signal stop just after Clitheroe the injector issues popped up again, but they managed to once again fix the issue and in the end we arrived 4 minutes down in Preston at 20.21. It was however decided to terminate the tour in Preston owing to the injector issues and it headed straight back to Carnforth as an empty coaching stock move without calling in Lancaster. Passengers for Lancaster returned to their starting station on public transport.
