(3) Nigel Benning comments: This tour was originally booked for Riviera Trains Mk2 stock, as this was required elsewhere so stock was hired in from WCRC. However, Carnforth sent an incorrect formation down E.C.S. on Friday which meant shunting was required at Burton on the Saturday morning prior to departure (hence the lateness). This included the addition of Mk2 air-con 5921 being added to the rake as coach A. 55009 developed a power unit fault on the return from London Kings Cross and therefore ran on one power unit with frequent assistance from 47826 on the rear. Due to late running, passengers were not allowed to disembark at Cleethorpes. At the reversal at Ulceby, 47826 and the front couple of coaches had passed Ulceby Jn onto the Immingham branch.
