Notes :
(1) Originally booked for an ex-LNWR 2-4-2T but 41226 was substituted as the
booked loco developed problems on the morning before the tour.
(2) From Birmingham New Street to Bescot the rake of stock used was simply
described as 'an ordinary rake of stock'. Passengers swapped to the second rake
(with the loco sandwiched in the middle) at Bescot. It is not clear if 41226 was
the motive power between Birmingham New Street & Bescot, or indeed as has
been suggested, the run from New Street was actually by service train? Ian Clark
reports the train was increased from 3 to 4 coaches to meet demand.
(3) Tickets supplied by John Debens seem to confirm this train ran on 26th
May (clipped ticket) but how does the specimen ticket also provided and dated 27th relate to this
tour? Ian Clark confirms no repeat train ran on May 27th.
