Notes :
(1) Graeme McClare comments: This tour was the first special train
solely for railway enthusiasts in New Zealand. It was organised by the
newly-formed Auckland Branch of this society, and commemorated the first 10
years of the parent society’s existence. The train comprised of steam
locomotive Ab 660 (which was borrowed from Frankton Junction as none of the
Auckland Ab engines were considered in good enough condition for such a run) and
four carriages. There were 146 passengers.
(2) Loco running tender-first.
