Notes :
(1) Originally uploaded as having run on 27th August 1956 in error. Ran to celebrate the centenary of the Caterham line. On arrival at Caterham (after the booked non-stop run from Purley) the train was to be welcomed by a Reception Committee headed by the Chairman of Caterham and Warlingham Urban District Council, accompanied by the Regimental Band of 565 L.A.A. Regt., R.A., (T.A.). It was also anticipated that a TV and Film Unit would be present. There was scheduled to be an exhibition of historical relics (lent by the British Transport Commission) at St. John's Hall (by the station). The return run, like the outward, was booked as non-stop.
