Notes :
(1) Trevor Machell comments: It is curious that the photo of MR1000 at Blackpool
appears to have a 1T00 reporting number as it was definitely 1T07 – that's
as given in the copy of the Preston area Special Notice I have). The photo below was taken only a few
feet from where I was standing myself!
(2) Route confirmation required. It is believed MR 1000 was added at Derby but
confirmation is required. 45548 is reported to have worked the train throughout.
MR 1000 departed at midnight piloting 60022 'Mallard' on a
Northern Rubber special which was also at Blackpool North that day - the use of
MR 1000 on that special having been at the special request of Northern Rubbers
chairman, Alan Pegler.
