(1) For visit to Stapleford Park, Stapleford Park Miniature Railway & Lion
Reserve.
On arrival at Grantham a total of 12 buses were scheduled to take passengers
onwards according to the following instructions;
a) White tickets (buses 1, 2 & 3) - travel by direct route to Stapleford Park,
arriving at approximately 14.00; rides on the railway until 14.25 when a guided
tour of the house was to begin.
b) White tickets (buses 4, 5 & 6) - travel by direct route to Stapleford Park,
arriving at approximately 14.10; rides on the railway until 14.40 when a guided
tour of the house was to begin.
Tea was to be served for all white ticket holders in the marquee at 16.00 with
buses for these ticket holders leaving at 17.00 for a tour of the Lion Reserve,
thence back on a scenic tour, via the Vale of Belvoir, to Grantham.
c) Red tickets (buses 7, 8 & 9) - travel direct to the Lion Reserve for a tour,
then to Stapleford Park for train rides until 15.30 when a tour of the house was
to begin.
d) Red tickets (buses 10 & 11) - travel direct to the Lion Reserve for a tour,
then to Stapleford Park for the house tour at 15.10 after which railway rides
were available until 17.00
Tea was to be served for the red ticket holders in the marquee at 17.00 with
buses leaving at 18.00 for a scenic tour back to Grantham.
d) Red tickets (bus 12) - this bus was reserved for passengers (if any) not
wanting to have unlimited travel on the railway or visit the Lion Reserve. Bus
12 was to travel direct to Stapleford Park for the house tour at 15.10, tea in
the Marquee at 17.00 and then back to Grantham leaving at 18.00 however if no
passengers wished to take up this option then bus 12 would follow the programme
for buses 10 & 11.
All the above came with the footnote: PLEASE NOTE. All buses leave promptly at
18.00 - bus arrangements may be varied according to demand, but passengers will
be informed (!!). A further footnote also stated 'Although Lord Gretton has
offered unlimited travel on the railway, we do earnestly ask that you take rides
in moderation. Other visitors to the Park want rides as well'.
