(1) The original intention had been to traverse the Blyth & Tyne branch
from Percy Main to Bedlington but due to a mistake within the Commercial
Department at Newcastle, for which they apologised but declined to correct, the
route taken was via Tynemouth to Backworth where a reversal was made to join the
B&T at Earsdon Jn and thence to Bedlington.
