(1) One of the first uses of the re-opened Ashton gate station (on the
Portishead line) for football specials to keep supporters out of Bristol city
centre. Ian Umpleby comments: The bare platform with (I think) one small brick
shelter was hardly suitable bur served its purpose. For FA Cup match (score -
Bristol City 1:1 Leeds Utd).
