(2) This page originally showed train starting at Manchester, then altered to
Stockport then changed again as it turned out the ECS was from Stockport (dep.
06.20).
(3) Andy Pullar suggests that the train was diverted due to engineering works in
the morning, hence the reversal at Crewe, and that these engineering works had
finished by the time of the return working, so train may have gone direct from
Shrewsbury to Crewe? Harry Harper states that he is '99% certain' the train
returned via Nantwich.
