Notes :
(1) These two trains were British Rail InterCity circular
tours from York, advertised to run every Sunday from 27th May to 2nd September
inclusive. The loco pool for these trips was from 5305, 4498 & 35028 - 5305
being booked to work the trains during June, 4498 in July and 35028 in August.
(2) Gordon Lacy comments: By this stage of the timetable, a stop was being made
at Leeds to set down passengers who had joined the morning train (1G61), to
facilitate a 'round trip'. However, the working times were never amended! The
late start, due to 'waiting connections' gave every incentive for a decent
run. 35028 did not disappoint! 55mph at the foot of Micklefield bank, increased
to 58.5mph on the climb saw the summit 'topped' (noisily!) at no less than
57.5mph! Despite the additional stop at Leeds, most of the deficit was made up.
