(1) Howard Parker who was at Edinburgh Waverley on this date reports of a special, 1Z81, running from Walsall via Shrewsbury to Edinburgh - was that this excursion? If yes then he reports it was late departing Edinburgh on the retun leg due to waiting arrival of the stock into Waverley station (as was the excursion he was on back to Leicester).
