Notes :
(1) The tour left Preston southbound at 20.34 with 84010.
(2) Dave Cook notes that Stockport was a pick-up point on the outward leg but is unaware of the arrangements for Stockport passengers to return home as the train went via the Styal line.
(3) Dave Cook comments: The catering car (of which he believes there was only one in the formation) was a no frills restaurant carriage with loose low back seating and simple meals (fish and chips in our case!) were being served.
