Notes :
(1) Seen at Bury-St-Edmunds in the evening. Alan Chilestone comments: I have
listed a class 31 on coaches on a timetabled Ipswich – Cambridge train (normally
DMU) following these two trains below, suggesting Ipswich Town were playing at
home. They did make the FA Cup ¼ final this year. Jon Horswell adds: A bit of
investigation has revealed that Ipswich Town were at home on this day to
Chester. It was an FA Cup match which Ipswich won 2:1. This therefore suggests
that the charters originated from Chester, or the Wirral.
