Notes :
(1) Tour ran very late as the DMU's had "very sick" engines. Fitters
turned out at Buxton and Chester to try to sort the problem out however heatwave
conditions at the time did not help.
(2) Booked reversal point was Hartford CLC Jn.
(3) Train was booked to reverse in Manchester Victoria the
original intention to run directly to Ashburys round the Philips Park curve
having been agreed then refused shortly before the tour was scheduled. The train
reversed at Collyhurst Street as its ability to climb Miles Platting Bank was in
question
