Notes :
(1) Owing to the risk of fire between Carnforth and Hellifield following exceptionally dry weather conditions, the steam leg was changed to a Leeds - Harrogate - York - Leeds circular tour, after which, 40169 was attached as pilot on to Carnforth where 46229 was removed. BR (LM) had advised the operators on 14th May that on the return leg the train would be re-routed between Blackburn and Bolton to run direct via Darwen instead of being diverted via the WCML and Chorley, and revised timings were given for the run to Manchester Victoria. In the event however, to regain time lost doing the York circular tour, the train was sent directly from Carnforth to Crewe via the WCML missing out Blackburn and Manchester altogether. Also on the return leg, the train was diverted to run via Worcester due to engineering work between Bromsgrove and Ashchurch.
