The Deltic Scotsman Farewell
Locos Used | 55015 'Tulyar' & 55022 'Royal Scots Grey' standby engine (1) : 55009 'Alycidon' |
Route : 1F50 throughout
Loco | Route |
55015 | London Kings Cross - (via 'old' ECML, Selby) - Edinburgh Waverley |
55022 | Edinburgh Waverley - (via 'old' ECML, Selby) - London Kings Cross |
Notes :
The end of an era - the last railtour celebrating the 20 year reign of Class 55
'Deltics' on British Rail. The tour timing sheet simply named the train the 'Deltic Farewell Railtour' but the locos carried a headboard
naming the train 'The Deltic Scotsman Farewell'.
(1) 55009 was standby engine in case of any problems with either of the tour
locos but in the event was not called upon to work. 55009 worked light engine
from Peterborough to Newcastle and back (under headcode 0F50) and carried 'The Deltic Tribute' headboard.
