673 | Fort William - Arisaig (1) |
????? | Arisaig - ??? |
Notes :
(1) Booked destination was Mallaig. 673 'Maude' ran a hot axlebox after Banavie
and the train made it as far as Arisaig before being terminated. 5407 was sent
'light engine' from Fort William but lineside fires near Loch nan Umbh Viaduct
started by the molten metal dripped from the hot axlebox had damaged the track
circuits so the token had to be sent back by taxi adding further delays to
proceedings. The train is reported to have got back to Fort William 'very late'
with Scotrail holding the sleeper service for 2 hours to allow some passengers
to get to London.
