40028 | Edinburgh Waverley - Aberdeen |
Notes :
(1) A shortage of guards at York found the steam special substituting
for a local all stations York - Leeds DMU, leading to a ninety minute late
arrival in Leeds. Stan Davies comments: The original itinerary was for 777 to do
a circular trip back to York but due to the late running it was replaced at
Leeds by 40028 which worked all the way back to Aberdeen. Highlight of the day?
being piped away from Leeds (do not know if this was planned) by a piper in full
Highland dress!
