(1) Peter White comments : A charter postponed from earlier in the year originally planned to take in the ECML and North London Line on the return as well ! No advertised traction meant quite a surprise at Wolves when the Rats appeared (47475 was in the bay but turned out to be for the Salop). The mileage involved for the Rats, the fact that they got all the way round, and the racket they made in Summit Tunnel made for some day out. Also the outrageous coincidence of running neck and neck with the 86 on the Exmouth Round Table's Blackpool charter outside Preston, and our locos steaming out and back in the small hours over the Yeovil-Exeter line.
