(1) Harry Harper comments: On the outward journey a domestic 4 ring + grill &
oven cooker was delivered by porters barrow to one of the brake vans, together
with bottled gas. This must have been a worry to the caged live pigeons already
located there. Luckily the birds were released at Penance, tickets having been
sold through the train with prizes for the fastest 'owner'. One prize went to
a Class 25 basher - It must have been the fastest thing he ever followed.
