(1) 'SKM info' comments: I was part of the organising group for the Nuneaton Railway Circle special from Bedworth on Saturday May 14th 1988. This was part of a Gala Day with the service launching the following Monday and was organised by BR and the plan was two DMU sets shuttling between Nuneaton-Bedworth-Nuneaton. I put a proposal to BR for a special train for the Nuneaton Railway Circle and it was agreed that it could be accommodated before the first of the shuttle services. Named 'The Bedworth Boomerang' it was effectively a circular trip from Bedworth to Coventry and Rugby (Reverse) then Nuneaton (Reverse) and return to Bedworth. Arrangements were made with the team at Tyseley depot for the GWR Chcolate and Cream Class 117 DMU (T305) to be made available for the special train which was specially prepared at the depot the previous evening
