(1) Stock confirmation required; John Cassey comments: Those marked TSO were not recorded but as per the tour brochure train consist.
(2) John Cassey comments: The tour was booked a 45/0 from Birmingham New Street but the only serviceable loco was at Leicester. However Saltley managed to supply bonus 45110 to haul the tour to Leicester. This was the first passenger train to use the new Windsor Link at Salford, two days before it was opened for service trains. The name of this tour was a result of a competition run by Pathfinder on the 'Pennine Forty Farewell' tour with my suggestion of 'The Vale and Peak' not meeting the mark.
