(2) Above route is the advertised route on the booking form. The actual route to have been taken on the day was much different according to the letter sent out with the tickets, as the description below demonstrates (wording copied exactly per the letter accompanying the ticket):
There have been a number of changes to the route; in particular, we regret that, due to a refusal by London Midland Region of all LM goods lines in our original proposal, we will be unable to visit Dunstable; and also that, due to problems with lack of route knowledge and the non-availability of a spare pilotman, it will not be possible to include the branch to Guiness, Park Royal, or the Old Oak flyover. As partial compensation, we have requested the inclusion of the Angerstein Wharf branch; (confirmation of this was awaited at the time of writing). Now confirmed. The changes of route, as originally stated on the booking form are;
Delete: Kew East Jn - Dunstable - Dudding Hill Jn / substitute: Richmond (rev) - Willesden Junction HL (rev)
Delete: Old Oak flyover
Delete: branch to Guiness Depot, Park Royal / Substitute: (after West Ruislip LU Depot): Greenford West to South Jn's
Delete: Ludgate Jn - St Pancras - South Tottenham (rev) / Substitute: Kensington Olympia - Greenford East Jn - West Ealing - Acton ML up goods line - Acton Wells Jn - Stratford - Temple Mills - Tottenham South Jn - South Tottenham East Jn
Delete: Ilford (rev) / Substitute: Gidea Park (rev)
