Notes :
(1) John Cassey comments: On arrival at Saltburn we were required to detrain and take all our belongings as the stock was used for a trip to Boulby and back for the local council (that trip ran as headcode 1G76 throughout) and on arrival we were met by the locals in all their Victorian finery due to the Victorian Festival taking place in the town. We now had over 2½ hours to kill in a wet and dreary place. Unfortunately due to this trip we never regained any time and diversionary bits of the return route were omitted to claw some time back, although we were still nearly two hours late back. There was also a S.T.A.R.S option to visit Thornaby depot with passengers leaving the train at Eaglescliffe and rejoining when we left Saltburn. According to the brochure both the expected Class 56’s worked and were virgin locos for passenger haulage.
(2) 56123 on rear.
(3) 37501 + 37502 on rear.
(4) Was booked to take York avoider but went via the station instead. Also booked from Church Fenton to Shaftholme Jn via Ferrybridge which didn't happen either.
(5) Booked from Aldwarke Jn to Nunnery Main Line Jn via Tinsley South Jn, Broughton Jn & Woodburn Jn but went via Meadowhall.
(6) Confirmation is required that the train traversed Tees Yard Down Goods No.1 & Middlesborough Goods lines, as booked.
