This tour was advertised as being almost certainly the last chance to travel from Oxford to Bedford throughout before the line was 'mothballed' between Claydon L&NE Junction and Bletchley. The route was due to close for freight traffic on 31 May 1993.
The tour started 15 minutes late from London Waterloo due, I believe, to the late arrival of the locomotive following problems with the 56 original chosen for the tour. This delay was retained, which with further delays experienced between Bicester and Bletchley resulted in a 45 minute arrival back in LondonTimings (Booked & Actual)
