(3) Given in the timing sheet as Holwell Jn GF but, as this is north from the junction (and Asfordby Tunnel) in the direction of Old Dalby/Edwalton, strictly this could not be the reversal point (unless at that time Holwell Jn GF also controlled the points allowing the reversal off the line to Asfordby Mine to then head for Edwalton and would thus have been correct in this context - confirmation anyone?). It is taken that the reversal point would have been just south of Asfordby Tunnel, at what is now referred to as Asfordby Jn since the layout was remodelled thus this reference has been used above for the avoidance of any doubt.
(4) Kevin Driscoll comments: the reversal point was at Melton Jn, (at 113m 36ch), NOT Melton Mowbray station as booked. The loss of 48chains each way means 1m 16ch needs deducting from all points thereafter : Asfordy Mine 115m 02ch - through to St. Pancras at 249m 49ch
