(1) Route & loco confirmation required. Jim Porter comments: On this day I had
taken my son for a day out train spotting at Paddington. On Platform 8 there was
a highly polished 47823 'S.S. Great Britain' with an equally polished rake of
intercity coaches. On making enquiries I was told that it was a special train to
celebrate 25 years of the Intercity service. I assumed that another intercity
loco would be taking it out but when we made our way to the end of an adjoining
platform I was surprised to see that the train was to be hauled by 46203
'Princess Margaret Rose'.
