(6) W.R. (Bill) Lynch adds: Outward actual routeing was
over the Helpston Chord and the SL at Skelton Bridge. By my reckoning the loco
exchanges were actually at Lackenby No 2, rather than No 3, Grid. Between the
East headshunt and the Main Gate the road traversed in both directions was the
Iron Granulation road. The late return departure from York was blamed on the
late arrival of the driver. Reversal points were recorded as;
Boulby: in loop.
No 4 Grid East headshunt (at least on first visit): Coatham line bridge, grid
ref NZ56802375.
Main Gate (both visits): Hot Metal road, grid ref NZ56192188.
Blast Furnace: west road door, grid ref NZ56602579
