Alan Vickers comments : A funny thing happened on this tour and the individual has begged me not to mention it but, as he has not paid the ransom I feel it is my duty to divulge to SBJ what happened. Having had a few sherbets on the outward run my good friend Glyn Thomas decided to have a wander around Canterbury on his own, unfortunately his internal compass had failed him (no doubt aided by some more sherbets) and he ended up in Canterbury East for the return journey. The alarm bells did not start ringing in my head until sometime after departure from Canterbury West, luckily for him the 45 minute delay in the Hither Green area and the crew change at Clapham Junction meant that he was able to catch us up there. A good laugh for those of us in the coach.
