(1) plus 58024 dead in tow.
(2) 58024 was booked to run to Sheffield, but a fuel leak resulted in it being failed at Coventry. 37680 was sent from Rugby to drag the failure to Nuneaton, where 58003 was waiting to relieve the 37, leaving 58024 dead inside. At Toton another traction change took place, 58003 and dead 58024 being removed in favour of 58044. Four engines for the price of one, ample compensation for a delay of about 80 minutes.
(3) Friday 14th March 1997 was "RED NOSE DAY" and as such, the on-board raffle was for "Comic Relief."
(4) The train's headboard read "Rotating Monkey".
