Somewhere I have/had a handbill for a superb tour that never ran. I am sure that it would be late 1986 but may have been early 1987 and involved 27059, after withdrawal, but before delivery to Tyseley, making a number of circuits of the West mids. I tried to book but it was caped by BR.

Anyone got any more details of what would have been a superb day out?
Kev

The tour was advertised by HRT and as ypu say was a farewell effort around the midlands prior to the loco going to Tyseley. I think the tour was an AC electric to Birmingham New Street for the 27 round the midlands. I did succeed in booking on it at the time but as you say it was caped by BR - I might still have the original letter somewhere as to why.
