Can a railtour operator organise to have some charter trains that run over a section of line more than once to allow the option of both travellling the section of line and also linesiding chasing (using minibuses or the like) included in the trip price?

This is done in other parts of the world (e.g. RPSI excursions in Ireland)and would be a useful addition to the attraction of the charter.

The Pathfinder steam bash around Bristol would have been a good example of where this could be done.

Another possibility would be to organise a trip with photographers in mind something like the steam excursions out of Fort William with heritage diesels. It would have been nice to ride a class 50 hauled train on the West Highland and also be able to get off and photograph it ( rather than having to either make your own arrangements to lineside or pay lots for a premium charter package).

London Euston/KX to Fort William/Inverness overnight in a MK1 set with heritage traction with short shuttles on sections of the line on the daylight sections for photgraphy would be my kind of tour (37s/40/50s/55s).

Or even a Scottish plandamf style diesel fest. I am sure enough pathways could be found to make this appeal.

The mainline certified Peaks/47/50s and the 52 could be of interest in the West Country. Even a short shuttle up and down the Fowey Branch or similar to get that classic photo everyone gets but those directly paying for the charter train to run would be nice.

Ok.So I miss the 1980s and the photo oportunities I didn't take.
