I think there was a series of steam hauled trains on specified dates promoted by BR during the Summer Holiday period and advertised in the Public Timetable. They were only available to passengers holding pre booked excursion tickets. The train was booked off Blackpool at 10.25. I don't have details of the traction or route until I got on at Grange over Sands. 45690 (as LMS 5690)....Grange over Sands, Carnforth F&M Jn, Carnforth East Jn, Wennington (water stop).....where I left the train. TTI gripped and ejected for a Ribblesdale bus to Lancaster. Mission accomplished and parachute operated. |
