Can you add any details for Pete Turtle; On 21/3/91 there was a rail tour with a pair of FASB 33s which I think started at Clapham (I joined at Salisbury), ran to Exeter and ran round, and continued west. Here it gets really hazy, I seem to recall that the 33s were moved to the rear of the train at Plymouth, and a 37 added at the front for the onward journey to Newquay. Obviously the 33s were the power for the journey home, however I have no idea what any of the locos were. I know I have the date right because it was run by Merlin Rail tours, I was pay on the day, and I still have the cheque stub. |
