The London Railway Record (#42) has a reproduction of an advert for "The Woburn Park Special", an Inter-Regional Ramblers' Excursion from Waterloo to Flitwick. The date is Sunday 23/9/1956 (I wasn't born then so I missed it...)

The advertised pick ups were:

waterloo - Clpaham Jn P4 or 5 - Putney - South Acton - Hendon LMR, so it presumably took the Dudding Hill route.

To accompany the advert the LRR includes a picture of the actual tour passing Hendon with 31577 at the helm on load 8.

Bet a few of HRT's "wine and dine" merchants were in their youth on that tour.
