This tour formed part of the "Barrow Hill Goes Mainline" weekend event run in conjunction with Fragonset Merlin Railways. Tour tickets included entry to the event at Barrow Hill.

(4) John Salmon comments : Engineering work south of Sheffield over-ran this morning. The effect was noticed by passengers on the first Barrow Hill - Toton circular tour, which was held on the Barrow Hill Goods line (prior to its reversal at Barrow Hill North) to allow diverted MML and Virgin trains to pass, and again at Tapton Junction where an empty up MML service which had managed to pass the engineering work came alongside. Added interest came at Ambergate South Jn, where we were put in the up passenger loop to allow yet another train to pass.
